Australian National Maritime Museum, August 2024 onwards

Free Entry

This exhibition prompts you to consider the question: did slavery exist in Australia? It looks at the lives and legacies of prominent Australians who financially benefited from Atlantic slavery. It uncovers the lives of Aboriginal people forced to dive for pearl shell, and those shipped from the Pacific Islands as indentured workers.
