Nikki Henningham, Researcher

ALS Project Position Researcher

Dr. Nikki Henningham is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Arts, who is working on the Legacies of Slavery project as a researcher.

She is Executive Officer of the Australian Women’s Archives Project. 
As editor of the Australian Women’s Register, Australia’s premier online resource for research in Australian women’s histories, Dr. Henningham has nearly twenty years experience collaborating with academics, archival professionals and community organisations to discover, promote and preserve women’s archival heritage.

Dr. Henningham is an experienced oral history practitioner, having participated in over 150 life history interviews now curated by the Oral History and Folklore section at the National Library of Australia. She has a keen interest in oral history methodology and the way gender frames narrative construction is the interview space. Her particular areas of interest are histories of women in the disability rights movement in Australia, Australian women in food and fibre production and women in the environmental movement.
